AAAI 2019 Spring Symposium:
Towards AI for Collaborative Open Science
March 25th–27th, 2019, Stanford University
Lane History Corner (Bldg. 200), Rm. 217
The AAAI 2019 Spring Symposium “Towards AI for Collaborative Open Science” (TACOS-19) will explore how artificial intelligence and computational tools can accelerate the pace of scientific discovery. Of special interest is how machines can assist human collaboration and knowledge sharing in open, networked science. The symposium will bring together researchers in basic science, computer science, statistics, psychology, and economics, among possibly other areas of academia, industrial research, and the nonprofit sector.
The symposium will highlight research directions in networked, machine-driven science, such as:
- AI and NLP methods for mining the scientific literature
- Meta-learning, meta-analysis, and model aggregation for open science
- Knowledge representation for the scientific process, e.g. for datasets or data analysis
- Knowledge representation for scientific knowledge, e.g. in biomedicine
- Software tools and formats for disseminating scientific knowledge
- Online platforms for collaborative basic science or data science
- Empirical studies of open scientific collaboration and innovation
- Incentives and rewards in open science
- Ioana Baldini (IBM Research AI)
- Peter Bull (DrivenData)
- Evan Patterson (Stanford University)
